High-Level Forum on the Status of Peace Implementation
Dates: 12 October 2019 – 12 October 2019
Location: 9:30am-1:00pm Juba Grand
Organizer: The Sudd Institute
The Sudd Institute is convening a high-level discussion forum to review the progress of the implementation of the R-ARCSS exactly one month before the formation of the R-TGoNU. The key question being explored is, will the R-TGoNU be formed on the 12th of November 2019?
The Sudd Institute has conducted an analysis informed by the Power-Sharing Peace Agreements literature in an attempt to answer this question. Interviews with key stakeholders of the R-ARCSS were also conducted in an attempt to answer the question. The results of this study will be presented by Abraham A. Awolich, the Acting Executive Director of the Sudd Institute.
The presentation will be followed by a distinguished panel made up of key members of the NPTC and other stakeholders. Representatives of JMEC and other mechanisms will also make short remarks in response to the analysis. A number of Ambassadors and UN officials will be present as well as government ministers.
The Forum is opened to the public, especially members of the civil society, students, and women are invited to attend.
